If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the lookout for new & exciting sounds. Sounds that will instantly inspire you and take your music production to the next level. Or maybe you’re just after a concise library of high-quality samples that will improve your music production workflow.
But again, if you are anything like me, you’ve been scarred by purchasing low-quality, unoriginal, copy and paste sounds that have set you back a decent chunk of money. This is probably an all too common reality about the majority of sample packs out there.
So to help you, I’ve put together a list of the 5 best sample packs I’ve personally used and still use to this day.
Each pack on this list I’ve found to be creative, enjoyable & quality. I’ve also left out obvious choices such as Decap’s Drums That Knock series as they’re just too popular. I want to highlight samples that you won’t hear in everyone else’s beats.
All sample packs are also 100% Royalty-Free.
1. The Essential Bundle by Sounds Like You
Highly creative, super unique & inspires me every time I open it.
I wasn’t expecting much when I purchased this pack. I found it from an Instagram ad initially and the sounds seemed sorta interesting. After downloading it and opening the first pack called Granular (which has sort of a Flume-type vibe) and was absolutely blown away by how creative some of the sounds were. I find myself coming back to this pack almost every time I’m struggling to come up with an idea for a track.
Sounds Like You also send out free lifetime updates to this pack and the last few times it’s happened there have been hundreds of new sounds added. There are already 3,500 samples, presets & MIDI files, plus upon signing up to their mailing list you get sent free packs quite often as well.
There’s also a discount code that’ll get you 25% off — MANLIKEYOU
This pack is a strong 10/10 for me.
2. Elation Sounds Collection Vol. 1 by Elation
Has all the necessities, super high-quality sounds & some of my favourite vocal chops/acapellas.
I found Elation through his YouTube tutorials initially. They’re really in-depth and to the point, and cover most genres of electronic music including Future Bass, Synthwave & Bass House to name a few.
I almost exclusively use his acapella and vocal chop samples in my own tracks. They are the best part of the bundle in my opinion but the Future Bass Essentials really are just that, essential.
Another 10/10 from me.
3. Everything from Oversampled.us
This guy never ceases to amaze me. His YouTube videos alone are a goldmine.
First up, if you haven’t seen any of his YouTube videos, go check them out right now.
The samples from Oversampled.us are not only highly creative but they are all of fantastic quality. I recommend every single one, even the ones I haven’t tried because I know they won’t disappoint you.
He even has a plugin called OCS-45 that I reckon you should check out.
4. All Packs in One by Ramzoid
Unique, interesting, and great quality
Yet another YouTuber, yet another goldmine. If you haven’t already heard of Ramzoid, I highly recommend checking his YouTube channel out. His beats rarely miss the mark and I can say the same for his samples.
His website is probably the most unique I’ve ever seen, with some retro vibes going on. The same thing can be said about his samples (minus the retro part). His melody and drum loops are some of the best around.
5. Presets by Synthblade
Clean, innovative & perfectly worked presets for Serum & Diva
Synthblade seems relatively new around here with only two preset packs available so far but damn they’re good.
Everything from the presets themselves to the cover art & promo videos is just so clean. The sounds are all really well crafted and have become some of my favourite presets I’ve ever used.
I’m very much looking forward to their future drops.
Well, there you have it, the top 5 most creative sample packs for music production. As you are already aware, I highly recommend all of these packs/sample pack websites. They each have their own strengths and combined will give you all the tools you need to never run out of ideas again.
